The country has tired of Israels demands. Im glad Dr. Paul has taken a proAmerican stand. The Mid East's foremost nuke WMD harborer can take care of its own desires. As can its neighbors.

I don't see the problem with that. We spend far too many billions of taxpayer dollars on other countries. They can support themselves, why should it be our problem?

About time. Ron Paul has my vote.

HEAVEN FORBID! Next thing you know he'll be talking about reducing the nanny state so that the individual will have to think and work and make choices.

Seriously...it's the right thing to do. We should still certainly be allies and sell them arms but not fund their military. They have more than adequate means to defend themselves and again it's not like we won't still be allies.

I agree. Idiots like Sean Hannity want to just nuke everything in the name of American dominance. We need to stop supporting terrorist activities -- even if they're 'friendly'

Well, it's about time! The European Union declared in 200, that Israel is the foremost country that endangers World Peace.

Israel has gotten enough money from the US. I'm glad to finally see a movement to get Israel to stand on it's own two feet and to stop leaching off of us.

@mickrussom

Yep, let Israel fend for itself.

please tell me this is satirical. israel is our ONLY ally in the middle east exluding Kurdistan. maybe we should protect our ally from everyone there that wants them dead...

Your stand on the war is identical to your grammar. Incredibly ignorant.

Here here. Israel can take care of itself. Not to mention that they've been violating agreements with all of its supporting nations to not expand further into Palestinian land. Why should we be paying for them to violate international agreements and antagonize their neighbors?

Giving money to Israel or not, I don't want your son to get my money.

I agree that we have to stop "policing" the world to the extent we are now. This means stop spending millions of dollars on other countries defenses.
I agree that Israel has the technology and full capability to protect itself from its enemies. Do not get me wrong.
Where I disagree is the fact that we must stand strong with our allies.

The need for bodyguards for Ron Paul becomes more and more imperative as his candidacy becomes taken more seriously. His sensibility is a radical departure from the inane policies, both foreign and domestic, of this and past administrations, and is threatens the status quo. Zealots, ranging from Neocons to rabid rightists and hidden fascists and doomsday Christians to ultra-orthodox Zionists and the rabble-rouser al-Quaeda, and lastly agent-provocateurs, both Dems and Republicans alike, would each have their own reason to have him neutralized. Need I mention the CIA as well? And Ron himself, being a hands-on person, would find it hard to change his style to minimize any attempts on him. And if he did, he would lose the charisma that is so much needed to win the election.

Your off point sir. The diversion of money from your son whom I assume is in a branch of the US armed forces is due to the said funds going to Israel, please check your facts. ISrael is a self sustaing country however, its main economical induwstry is that of tourism, mainly from the jewish populations in the US as well as the other religous entities around the globe. that being said due the current situation in the middle east as well as sentiments like yours Israel's economy is suffering tremendously. Now if you were to point our intelligently that the US does sell billions in technologies and war machines, than I would commend your knowledge, however again, the same can be said of the U.S.'s foreing policy with countries like Egypt, and Saudia Arabia. If you want to protect your son, and I (having served in the armed forces myself have some inside knowledge on this subject) share your goal of his safe return, you should look into the Bush administrations blind eye toward the arms dealings with China and Iran, who in turn arms the insurgency we are fighting today directly. It all comes down to money sir, that is why your son may not have full dragon skin, and that is why you a member of the public are not allowed to purchase this or any other item for him. Israel is the only ally to a westernized culture in this extremly ignitable middle east and I daresay without it deeply entrenched as it is today with our support, many more blows would come to westernized democracies as the fanatic jihqadists would only utilize the destruction of Israel as a stepping stone to destroying all infidels, and we sir are those said infidels.

We do let Israel protect itself. We just sell them a bunch of arms to do it with.

He just earned my vote. I have never voted Rep in my life and I'm damn old, but this takes the cake. It's about time. I like what this guy has to say. Faux Noise hates him, but the people love him. God help us, we need Ron Paul and his common sense to pull this country out of the toilet.

Where to begin... how about the billions of dollars we give to saudi arabia and other countries for their military, if we stopped backing israel how long do you think they would last. They are surrounded by arab countries that still live in the stone age and want everyone else to. (See Syria, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Iran, etc.) These countries would love for an excuse to go to war with the jews. Their people are indoctrinated with hate since the day they were born. The wahhabi sect of islam preaches martyrdom and death and doesnt care about killing innocents to prove their point (i.e. 9/11). They aren't worried about right or wrong just Wahhabi Islam or wrong. They're brainwashing millions of young minds every year. Is it good for these people to gain any sort of influence or power in the world? Their countries are living in squalor and poverty because of their leaders, Israel is an industrialized nation with thriving agriculture in the middle of the desert. Unlike their hate-filled neighbors they did not get their money from oil, they worked for it. And as for the comment before me do you really think its a good idea for israel to use their nukes? no offense but if so sir youre an idiot

Israel receives 14 million dollars every day.
A recent 25% increase to foreign aid to Israel just blew my mind, because since I believe 1956 this has been going on.
Israel is no longer a defender of communism, the American Lobby for Israel has morphed our foreign policy . Then we here about all the soldiers dying, but nobody tells us in the news, who encouraged this war?

Finally!!! real people talking.. this issue of the israeli takeover of our politics and media! why do we americans fund the terror and the occupation israel imposes on the palestinians! the unstability in the middle east? believe me, the arabs could care less about what goes on in this country. we have been fouled and decieved by the israeli's since WW1 and were a major factor for the reason we got into WW2.. there minupilative people!! we should stop terrorism in the middle east and all over the world by cutting them off ASAP.they control the congress, senate and unfortunately, the president. help stop them by any means necessary..(peacefull means).

Let me correct some misunderstandings

1) Israel is not an ally.

a. No treaty of allegiance exists.
b. Israel has attacked the USA
(USS Liberty)
c. Israel spies on the USA
(Many counts - Amdocs, Pollard etc)
d. Israel's actions endanger the USA
(suicide terrorism, global hatred, wars for Israel)

2. Ron Paul's foreign aid position is constitutional.
a. All congressmen and presidents take an oath to uphold The Constitution.
b. The Constitution enumerates the legitimate powers of the federal govt. What is not enumerated is not allowed.
c. The Constitution does not authorize the Federal Government to take American taxpayer dollars and give them to foreign nations.
d. Ron Paul says he is 'just doing his job' by opposing unconstitutional (illegal) foreign aid to all countries. This is the only lawful position to take.
e. The Federal government is not just not authorized to send our money to Israel. It is also not authorized to send it to Egypt, Turkey, or the Palestinian Authority.

To those pointing out how much the US also gives to other countries in the region, you're right in that the US should stop giving them money too (and Paul does advocate this), but that's for another article.

As to Israel being our only ally in that area, it's not usually mentioned that until Israel existed, the US didn't have any enemies in the region.

Also, the person who thinks that "...we have been fouled and decieved by the Israeli's since WW1" should recall that Israel didn't exist until 1948.

The real problem isn't "Israelis" or "Americans," it's the corrupt governments and the corporations that run them.

I just have to feel that a substantial amount of the posts here are designed to ignite politically incorrect sentiment thereby enabling an ongoing "tagging" operation of dangerous minds. I was not going to vote. I watched what I thought was the entire GOP lineup give allegiance to the Jewish Republican Party last week and I told my wife I wasn't going to bother voting. "Ron Paul" where did this guy come from? I think I may have to vote after all.

"Their people are indoctrinated with hate since the day they were born.

Right... evil babies.

"The wahhabi sect of islam preaches martyrdom and death and doesnt care about killing innocents to prove their point (i.e. 9/11)."

I've never heard of the "Wahhabi sect", but one of the major reasons behind the terror attacks was our occupation of their land, not because they're "born evil", or whatever FALSE News tells you.

"They're brainwashing millions of young minds every year."

Hey, guess what - SO ARE WE! "We're the brightest beacon for freedom in the world... that's why the Patriot Act, Military Comissions Act, and Extraordinary Rendition are necessary." Dimming that beacon won't make them hate us any less.

"Is it good for these people to gain any sort of influence or power in the world? Their countries are living in squalor and poverty because of their leaders."

They have poverty, so we should bomb them? Check out Mississippi, buddy. Do you think Putin should invade Biloxi?

"Israel is an industrialized nation with thriving agriculture in the middle of the desert."

Okay... so why are we giving them aid when they don't need it?

"Unlike their hate-filled neighbors they did not get their money from oil, they worked for it."

"They worked for it." And we donated the rest.

"And as for the comment before me do you really think its a good idea for Israel to use their nukes? no offense but if so sir youre an idiot."

Name-calling... how mature.

Anyway, Israel pokes its surrounding countries. If they retaliate, we shouldn't jump in the middle.

While the small minds of most of us Americans would think this is a good idea, why on earth would you agree with this? It would cause mass killings over the land.

Not something Hilary Would recommend, but on the other hand why would you go republican? Hard decision!

LoveTheConstitution.com has some cool anti-republican stuff!

Ron Paul is right, Americans don't understand the middle east, and have no business meddling with middle easterns. Go home and let peace happen, both at home and in the Holy Land.

I'm a Jew for Ron Paul. And by the way, don't make mistakes, there are reasons for foreign aid, whether it be to Egypt or to Israel. I invite you all to read up on them. Now I won't hide from you the sentiment in Israel that America should step out of the way, both financially and politically, so that all countries may apply their sovereign powers, and come to the beautiful conclusion that trade is the way to peace.

How foolish a situation it has become, where both Arabs and Jews have a long history of trade, and both people (provided you consider Arabs to be 1 people) do not need reminders on the benefits of peace.
